About
AI-first by foundation, not by feature.
Plainly Digital LLC is an AI-first consumer-apps studio. Every product in the suite is built around Claude Sonnet 4.6 (Anthropic) as the reasoning layer — multi-turn coaching, document understanding, scam classification, transaction-aware insights, and personalized recommendations all depend on frontier language-model capabilities. Without that layer, the products would not exist. With it, they do things rule-based systems can't.
Today, AI workloads run via the Anthropic API directly. As Plainly Digital scales onto Google Cloud (Cloud Run, Firebase Hosting, Cloud SQL), AI workloads will migrate to Claude on Vertex AI Model Garden — consolidating observability, governance, and billing under a single GCP control plane.
See the AI architecture page for the per-product model assignments and the specific tasks the AI performs in each app.
The apps in this suite started as solutions to problems I had myself: a confusing benefits letter that took two hours to decode, a pet sitter who needed to know seventeen things and ended up missing four of them, finance content built for the people writing finance content, and so on. Plainly Digital is the small studio that turns those into AI-native mobile apps anyone can use — engineered with the security discipline of someone who builds compliance tools for a living (encrypted at rest, hardened at the API layer, AI-governed at the model layer).
The team
Plainly Digital is founded and built by Jonathan Brock, Founder & Principal Engineer. Brock is a cybersecurity professional who has spent a career securing software and building compliance tooling, and started Plainly Digital to put that same discipline behind AI-native consumer apps — software built to make everyday life a little easier, and the world a little better.
That background shows up in how every product is engineered: sensitive data encrypted at rest, APIs hardened and budget-capped, AI calls governed with input/output guardrails, crisis routing that's never gated, and NIST AI RMF–aligned audit logging. Security-first and AI-first are the same decision here.
How the business works
Plainly Digital LLC is a Tennessee-registered consumer-software company, founded in 2025. It's a digital-native business: subscription software, free to start with paid monthly and annual tiers. The first product, Patet, is live in beta on the web at patet.plainlydigital.com, with native iOS and Android apps to follow. Revenue scales with software and users — not consulting, not services, not per-project billing. The whole suite is built around Claude as the reasoning layer and runs on Google Cloud.
