Legal
Effective:
These terms govern your use of ClearDoc, a mobile application published by Plainly Digital LLC (“we,” “us,” “our”).
1. Acceptance and age
By creating an account or using ClearDoc you agree to these terms. You must be at least 13 years old to use ClearDoc. If you are between 13 and the age of majority in your jurisdiction (typically 18), you must have a parent’s or guardian’s permission.
2. Your account
ClearDoc lets you sign in anonymously or with email and password. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activity in your account. Notify us at apps@plainlydigital.com if you suspect unauthorized access.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to use ClearDoc to:
- Scan documents you do not own or are not authorized to scan, or that contain another person’s sensitive personal information without their consent;
- Probe, scan, or load-test the service except via responsible-disclosure channels (see section 11);
- Bypass quotas, rate limits, or paywalls;
- Use the service to create derivative AI-training datasets;
- Violate any applicable law in your jurisdiction.
4. Intellectual property
You own the documents you scan and the data you submit. You grant Plainly Digital LLC a limited license to process your inputs to provide the service — that is, to send them to our AI provider, generate a result, and store it in your account so you can re-open it.
ClearDoc software, branding, and the ClearDoc name are © and ™ of Plainly Digital LLC.
5. AI disclosure and not advice
ClearDoc uses the Claude AI model from Anthropic to read documents and produce summaries. AI output is fallible. ClearDoc’s output is not legal, medical, tax, or financial advice and must not be relied on as such. Always verify any important detail with a qualified professional before acting on it.
ClearDoc may automatically redact obvious sensitive identifiers from extracted text (SSNs, full card numbers, license numbers). Redaction is best-effort, not guaranteed. Do not use ClearDoc on documents whose redaction is critical to your safety.
6. Subscriptions, packs, and billing
ClearDoc offers:
- First scan free — a one-time free trial scan;
- Scan pack —
$4.99for 20 scans, no expiration; - Unlimited monthly —
$7.99/monthauto-renewing subscription.
Prices are listed in United States dollars and may vary by region or by applicable taxes.
Subscriptions are billed by Apple App Store or Google Play, not by us. Manage or cancel subscriptions in your store account at any time. Refunds are governed by the store you purchased through. Scan packs are one-time purchases that never expire and are non-refundable except where required by law.
7. Service availability
We strive to keep ClearDoc available but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may set rate limits or daily processing caps to control cost and abuse. If ClearDoc returns “service capacity reached,” try again later.
8. Termination
You may stop using ClearDoc and delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete account. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or that pose a security or cost-abuse risk to the service. We will email you if we do so where reasonably possible.
9. Disclaimer of warranties

10. Limitation of liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, PLAINLY DIGITAL LLC WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, OR DAMAGES IN EXCESS OF THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID FOR CLEARDOC IN THE TWELVE MONTHS PRECEDING THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM.
