Effective:
SitterSheet is a mobile app published by Plainly Digital LLC (“we,” “us,” “our”) that turns your wizard answers into a comprehensive pet/house-sitter guide and lets you share it with a 30-day expiring link. SitterSheet handles sensitive household and pet information, so this policy is detailed. Please read it.
What SitterSheet collects
When you complete the wizard, SitterSheet collects:
- Pet information: name, species, age, feeding schedule, medications, exercise needs, behavior quirks, and emergency vet contact information.
- House information: address, WiFi network name and password, alarm code, trash and recycling schedule, neighbor or backup-contact name and phone number.
- Owner contact information: your phone number and how to reach you in an emergency.
- Account data: a Firebase Authentication user ID. SitterSheet supports anonymous accounts and email-and-password accounts.
- Usage data: counts of guides created, subscription/unlock state, rate limit counters used for abuse prevention.
How sensitive fields are stored
This is the part most people care about, so we’ll be specific:
- WiFi password and alarm code are stored on your device using
the operating system’s secure storage — iOS Keychain or Android
Keystore, via
expo-secure-store. These fields are not stored in plaintext on the device. If your device does not support secure storage (for example, the web preview), SitterSheet will warn you and refuse to persist sensitive draft data — your wizard progress for those fields will not be saved between sessions. - Other guide content (pet info, addresses, vet contact, etc.) is sent to our servers and stored in Google Firebase Firestore, encrypted in transit and at rest by Google. Sensitive fields included in the final generated guide are also stored alongside the rest of the guide so the guide can be rendered when shared.
What SitterSheet sends to third parties
To provide the service, SitterSheet shares limited data with three providers:
- Anthropic — when you generate a guide, your wizard answers are sent to Anthropic’s Claude API to format them into a friendly markdown guide. Per Anthropic’s Commercial Terms of Service, Anthropic does not retain API inputs or outputs for training.
- Google Firebase — Authentication, Firestore, Cloud Functions, and Hosting (for share pages) are operated by Google.
- RevenueCat — handles your
$4.99lifetime unlock purchase, in accordance with their privacy policy. RevenueCat receives a hashed user ID and the product purchased.
Sharing — read this carefully
When you tap Share, SitterSheet generates a unique 32-character (128-bit)
random token and creates a public web page at
plainlydigital.com/g/<token> that renders your guide in plain HTML.
Anyone who has that link can view the guide. The link is hard to guess — 128 bits of entropy — but it is not access-controlled. Treat the link as you would a key to your home, because if your guide includes a WiFi password and an alarm code, that’s effectively what it is.
We mitigate the risk in three ways:
- Share links expire automatically after 30 days, after which the URL returns “410 Gone.”
- You can rotate the share link from inside the app at any time, which permanently invalidates the previous link.
- Share pages are served with
X-Robots-Tag: noindex, nofollowso search engines should not index them.
If you accidentally share a link with the wrong person, rotate the link immediately in the app. Treat that as a security incident: if the wrong person has your alarm code, change the code.
Account deletion
You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete account. Deletion permanently removes your Firebase Auth record and all stored guides within 30 days. Active share links are immediately invalidated. On-device secure-storage entries are deleted from your device when you uninstall the app or call Settings → Reset device data.
You may also email apps@plainlydigital.com to request deletion if the in-app flow does not work for you.
AI disclosure
SitterSheet uses the Claude AI model from Anthropic to format your wizard answers into a guide. AI is fallible. SitterSheet may rephrase, summarize, or omit information you entered. Always read the generated guide carefully and edit anything that’s wrong before sharing it with a sitter who will rely on it. SitterSheet is not a substitute for veterinary or legal advice.
Anonymous-account orphan-data risk
If you use SitterSheet anonymously and then uninstall the app or sign out without first deleting your account, the anonymous user ID becomes unreachable. Your guides remain in our database, encrypted at rest, but you will not be able to log back in to recover or delete them. We retain unreachable anonymous data for 12 months and then purge it on a rolling schedule. Sign in with email if you want recovery.
Children
SitterSheet is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Your rights
If you reside in the EU/EEA, the UK, California, or any other jurisdiction with similar privacy rights, you have the right to access, correct, delete, or port your data, and to object to certain processing. Email apps@plainlydigital.com and we will respond within 30 days. We do not sell or “share” personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Changes
We will update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be flagged at the top of the page along with a revised effective date.
